In recent years,China put forward to optimize the transportation energy consumption structure and to increase the application of new energy and clean energy vehicles in the city bus and passenger transport area.Zn-Ni battery,which has the characteristics of green environmental protection,has been widely studied.Zn-Ni battery has the conditions for electric vehicle batteries because of its advantages including high voltage,high energy density,good safety,low cost,et al.Study of Zn-Ni battery began 100 years ago,but Zn-Ni battery has not been able to be large-scale application because of its some problems such as zinc dendrite,dissolution and passivation and toxicity of nickel anode and so on in charge-discharge process.The paper is with starting point of lower solubility of zinc salt in alkaline electrolyte.Calcium zincate was prepared by the suspension reaction method of reactant including zinc oxide and calcium hydroxide under different conditions and its performance was studied.In this paper,calcium zincate was prepared by suspension reaction method at different temperatures,different surface active agents and different alkali concentrations.The effects of the above conditions on the morphology,particle size and yield of calcium zincate have been studied.The samples were characterized by optical microscopy,scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X ray diffraction(XRD),thermogravimetric analysis and particle size analysis.The results showed that calcium zincate has been successfully prepared,which can be confirmed by XRD and thermogravimetric analysis.Preparation temperature,concentration of KOH and surface active agent all have impact on the morphology,yield and particle size of calcium zincate.In this paper,the effect of solution temperature,solution time,concentration of medium,the particle size of calcium zincate,the preparation temperature of calcium zincate andIn this paper,the effect of solution temperature,solution time,concentration of medium,the particle size of calcium zincate,the preparation temperature of calcium zincate and surface active agent on the solubility of calcium zincate in KOH/NaOH solution were investigated by EDTA titration.The electrochemical properties of calcium zincate samples prepared under different conditions were studied.The results indicted that as solution temperature increased,the solubility of calcium zincate in KOH/NaOH solution increased;as solution time increased,the solubility of that increased;as the concentration of medium increased,the solubility of that increased;as the particle size of calcium zincate increased,the solubility of that decreased.as preparation temperature of caicium zincate increased,the solubility of that increased.Through the comparison of discharge platform and cycle efficiency of simulated battery with calcium zincate and zinc Oxide as the anode,we found that the calcium oxide as the negative electrode was better than zinc oxide in the discharge platform and charge/discharge capacity retention rate.
