Because the porphyrin and their derivatives exist widely in nature biological systems for photosynthesis, theyhave been extensivelyinvestigatedas organic light and electrical materials. As an active material, they have made progress on organic solar cell(OSC)in recent years. But it is rarely reported that the porphyrins derivatives with liquid crystal properties were used in OSC.Therefore,it is necessary to study the application of porphyrin derivatives with liquid crystalline properties in OSC.In this thesis, the porphyrin derivatives,5,10,15,20-tetra(4-(N-pentane-carboxamide)phenyl)porphyrin(4NC5-TPP),5,10,15,20-tetra(4-(N-dodecane-carboxamide)phenyl)porphyrin(4NC12-TPP)and their zinc-complexes(4NC5-TPPZn and 4NC12-TPPZn),have been synthesized and charactered by MS,1HNMR and IR.Their thermal properties and morphologies were investigated via TG,DSC and POM.It was found that the 4NC5-TPP and the 4NC12-TPP was the amorphous at room temperature, while the 4NC12-TPP can formed the columnar liquid crystal ata certain temperature;the 4NC5-TPPZn and was the 4NC12-TPPZn showed crystal at room temperature. The photophysical and electrochemical properties of these porphyrin derivatives were studied by UV-vis absorption spectra, fluorescence spectra and cyclic voltammetry. The electron state density distributions and the optimum configuration of the porphyrin derivatives were calculated by chemical simulation.Using the porphyrin derivatives as donor materials and PTCDA as the acceptor material, the OPV devices(ITO/porphyrin derivatives: PTCDA/Al)were fabricatedand the relationship between morphology and performance of OPV were studied. It was found that crystalline morphology of the film was benefit to improve efficiency of the devices.
