There are,as for extracting high purity titanium-related products from titanium -containing materials,several sticky problems such as high temperature requirements,the equipments complex and the high cost etc.In this work,it is proposed combined novel methodology to preparation of TiC by carbothermal reduction in vacuum and acid leaching using titanium -containing materials technical processing.Titanium-containing materials includes BF-slag bearing titanium of unused and low grade and high grade rich titanium material and Ilmenite.Based on carbon thermal reduction thermodynamic basic research,preparation of TiC by carbon thermal reduction in vaccum and acid leaching experiment and titanium oxide deoxidizing dynamics research,it is confirmed that can be obtained preparation of pure titanium carbide products by the carbon thermal reduction in vacuum and acid leaching using titanium material of different titanium grade.The main conclusion are showed as below:When the system pressure is in the range of 1-10 Pa with temperature above 1600 K,the CaTiO3,MgAl2O4,CaMg(SiO3)2,CaFe(SiO3)2 can be reduced to TiC,CaO,SiO,Mg,Al,Fe.The Predominance diagram of reduction product for titanium bearing materials shows that TiC can be obtained through adjusting the partial oxygen pressure & temperature of the system,and that the domains of stability of TiC.The optimized mass ratio for titanium bearing materials and carbon in the carbothermic reduction process are 100:38 for BF slag bearing titanium dioxide,100:70 for titanium-rich materials and 100:70 for Ilmenite concentration.When the vacuum comes to 1 Pa,the optimized temperature for the reduction of above materials are 1673 K,1673 K and 1623 K,respectively.The smaller the mass ration of slag and carbon is,the quicker the reduction rate can be found,and that the optimized slag grain size is 75 ?m.The reduction reaction belongs to atmosphere diffusion control with activation energy of 217.469 kJ/mol.In the same temperature,the reaction extent gradually becomes small with the increase of heating rate.D4 modulus,which can be expressed as f(a)= 3/2(1+?)2/3[(1+?)1/3-1]-1,g(a)= [(1+?)1/3-1]2,have the most possibility of being the mechanism function of reducing TiO2 to TiC.The activation energies are calculated to be 223.1 kJ·mol-1?227.9 kJ·mol-1?234.8 kJ·mol-1 for the corresponding heating rates of 4?6?8?/min-1,indicating that the enhancement of temperature can lead to the decreasing of activation energiesIt is little influence for acid leaching to the concentration of Hydrochloric acid,the temperature of acid leaching and particle of size sample.
