Functional graded materials are a new kind of the composite material that material properties change continuously in space.For the research of functional graded materials,the main solving methods include analytical method and numerical method.Analytical method has difficult to solve the general problem.The finite element method matrix of the numerical methods is so large that reduces the solution efficiency.The solution domain is discrete into series strip element in strip element method.Strip element method combine the ideas of the analytical method with numerical method not only ensure precision of the understanding,but also improve the solution efficiency.In this work functionally graded materials plate was taken as the research object.The strip element method was used to solve plane stress problem and thermal deformation,the main works and achievements are as follows:Based on the ideas of strip element method and the principle of element displacement function of strip element method,the expression of the displacement function is deduced.Through different parameter combinations the change rule of materials is obtained.The relationship between the materials volume fraction and the physical performance parameters was established.The rule of functionally graded materials physical performance parameters is obtained by the change of the volume fraction.The strip element method is applied to solve the displacement response of plane stress problem of functionally graded materials.The governing equation is obtained by using displacement function and principle of virtual work.The boundary conditions applying form is studied.Modal superposition method is used to complete the solution of the governing equation.The plane stress of pure metal is solved by using the strip element method.The results show that the solution solved by strip element method is same with solution solved by finite element method.Then study the influence of element number for result.Using strip element method to solve plane stress problem of Si3N4-1Cr18Ni11Nb functionally graded materials.The result shows that with the increase of graded coefficient,the displacement response of structures decrease;and with the increase of graded coefficient,the difference between different graded parameters decreases.The theoretical formula of the displacement response of the functionally graded materials under the temperature load is deduced by using the strip method.The addition of the temperature load is studied.Using strip element method established the computing program for solving thermal deformation.The results show that graded parameter has little effect to the structure response.And the influence of graded parameters happened at load location.The purpose of this study is using strip element to solve problems of structural responses of functionally graded materials.This study provides a new method for computing structural responses of functionally graded materials,and has important reference value for studying the displacement response of functionally graded materials.
