The polycarbonate(PC)and acrylonitrile/butadiene/styrene(ABS)alloy is widely used in industrial field of plastic,this alloy could combine the advantages of PC and ABS.In other words,the alloy not only has high tensile strength and impact strength,but also has good processing performance.Because of the addition of PC,the alloy hasflame retardant properties,but it still cannot meet the requirements of many fields.And with the increase of the content of ABS,PC/ABS alloy flame retardant performance is lowered,so the studies of halogen-free flame retardant PC/ABS alloy is necessary.At first,in this paper we prepared high impact ABS region by the method of continuous bulk synthesis.In the process of synthesis,different ratio and different concentration of triphenyl phosphate/phenolic resin were added into the systemto improve the flame retardant property.After that,we tried to use triphenyl phosphate/microcrystalline cellulose as flame retardant systemto get good flame retardant performance of ABS resin.This kind of ABS resin with excellent properties could form flame retardant PC/ABS alloy by melt extrusion with PC.In this research,we investigated the mechincal properties and the flammability of PC/ABS alloy by varying the proportion,addition and addition mode of flame retardant system.Combined with TGA,SEM,DSC,FTIR and calorimeter methods we studied the distribution of each component in the alloy and exact values about the flammability.By these researches,we get the alloy that could be applied to electronic appliances such as the flame retardant properties of PC/ABS alloy in the field of high demand.By the research,we proved that the flame retardant ABS region prepared by continuous bulk synthesis has good compatibility with PC by the examination of mechincal properties and morphology of the alloy.This flame retardant PC/ABS alloy could meet the needs for the high requirement for flame retardant field.
