Silicate is an environment-friendly corrosion inhibitor, with rich resources, non-toxic,inexpensive, easy to use and so on. In recent years, the use of sodium silicate solution of galvanized steel, aluminum and aluminum alloy and magnesium alloy surface treatment of more research. Sodium silicate is the most important kind of silicate inhibitor, but the sodium silicate solution at room temperature to form the anti-rust film with water soluble,poor water resistance, in the outdoor vulnerable to damage, to a certain extent, shorten the rust period. The effect of heat-curing on the anti-rust property of sodium silicate has a great effect. When a certain solidification temperature is reached, the water evaporates. Si-OH is almost completely condensed into the network structure of Si-O-Si chain.In this paper, a kind of environment-friendly water-based anti-rust agent was prepared by using sodium silicate as raw material. The electrochemical test, weathering test,scanning electron microscope, Infrared spectroscopy and water resistance test were used to evaluate the properties of the rust-proof film which was naturally dried at room temperature(25 ℃ ) and anti-rust film after thermal curing. The effects of different concentration,different curing temperature and different curing time on the anti-performance. The results show that the concentration of sodium silicate solution is 0.8mmol/L, the curing temperature is 220℃ and the curing time is 3.5h. The formation of sodium silicate rust-proof membrane is uniform and dense, forming Si-O-Si three-dimensional network structure, Which is superior to the un-cured sodium silicate anti-rust film. The corrosion resistance and water resistance of the film are better than that of the natural dry anti-rust film after more than 2 months.
