Because the application of the resin infusion process in the field of thermosetting resin molding is becoming more and more widely,the infusion simulation technology has been paid more and more attention.Recently,lots of kinds of commercial software have appeared and been used in the world.However,there is no mainstream report on the domestic software package in this field.In order to fill the gaps in this field,a series of resin infusion molding simulation programs based on the control volume finite element method(CVFEM)have been developed.The main program is composed of several parts,including the reading of mesh data,the setting of boundary conditions,the reconstruction of the fluid infusion zone,the construction of the control volume node data for the flow front,the pressure calculation of the infusion zone,the calculation of the element velocity and smoothing process of the node velocity,the calculation of net flow rate of the control volume and the recalculation of the filling rate.Based on the development of 2D plane infusion program,the situations,including the intersection of multi flow-fronts,the influence of gravity on filling progress and the filling simulation of 3D surface model were also considered.In addition,a series of experiments were done to verify the correctness of simulation programs.The consistency of the comparison results between the experiment and simulation means the correctness of simulation programs to some extent.Furthermore,the direction of the deep development of this software package was also pointed out,including the boundary condition treatment when the dry spot defect happens,the prediction of the thickness distribution and the time-dependent viscosity problem in the fast curing process.Therefore,it is helpful to develop the resin infusion simulation package with independent intellectual property rights.
