As an indispensable raw material in chemical industry production,cumene plays an important role in this field. In recent years, with the expansion of downstream products market, the demand for cumene has been rising rapidly. Many chemical companies begin to prepare for establishing new plants to produce cumene. The research object of this paper is a set of 300000 t/a cumene production equipment. Through dynamic simulation method, the simulator is developed. It can be used in staff training process to improve their operation skills. With the help of simulator, the equipment can go into production as soon as possible when the construction work is finished.In addition, simulator can be used to guide and predict production to ensure equipment works smoothly and safely.The main contents of this paper are dynamic simulation, which can't be accomplished without the assist and support of other work. First of all,component system, reaction and technology parameters are analyzed in detail by researching design information. The PR equation is selected as thermodynamic method. The steady state simulation is carried out by using Unisim Design and the results are verified. On the basis of previous work,dynamic simulation can be carried out. It includes following aspects:establishing basic model such as physical property and thermodynamic model,constructing unit equipment, structure and control dynamic model, calculation and verifying simulation results by using DSO platform.Compared with the designed values, the majority of steady state simulation results match with the true values. The relative error of steady state simulation results is less than 2%. Information is widely expanded by simulating, which provides reliable data for dynamic simulation process. By verifying dynamic simulation results, it is found that the dynamic characteristics of model are good. The whole processes from starting to producing normally and then to stoping can be repeated in computer. The control model responds correctly and rapidly to ensure the stability of equipment. The calculation value in steady producing situation is well matched with the design value, which means that the simulation results are accurate and reliable.The simulator that is based on dynamic simulation applies to staff training process successfully. It has the function of starting or stoping instrument, operating normally, and handling accident. Furthermore, it can give score according to accuracy and proficiency of operation process.Because all the dynamic models are established according to the mechanism,simulator has the function of guiding production and assisting optimization.
