Preparation And Sustained Releasing Study Of Aromatic Wallpaper

Aromatic wallpaper is a functional indoor decorated paper. It can slowly release aroma to improve the air quality in house. Compared with traditional wallpaper, aromatic wallpaper have more product value and market advantages. The article prepared an micro-encapsulation regarding Maltodextrin, Starch sodium octenylsuccinate and Arabic gum as wall materials.And then, we applied it into wallpaper to prepare an aromatic wallpaper via coating machine.The experiment process discussed the influences of different factors (such as: stirring method, ratio between core material and wall material, stirring speed and stirring time) for the encapsulation efficiency by single factor analysis. We decided the final fragrance encapsulation technology basing on the experiment. That was: core/wall material ration=1 :2,mechanical stirring for 20min at the speed of 600rpm and homogenization for 20min at the speed of 10000rpm.In the micro-encapsulated aromatic wallpaper's preparation process, we discussed three important factors (aromatic treatment method, fragrance dosage and drying method of wet aromatic wallpaper) which heavily influence the application results of aromatic wallpaper. We decided the final preparation method based on the fragrance strength and comfortable degree of aromatic wallpaper by sensory evaluation. Finally, we thought that the best way to preparing aromatic wallpaper was by coating machine. And the fragrance dosage was 1%. The wet paper dried at room temperature.In the study, the micro-encapsulation was characterized by a variety of instruments, for example: particle size analyzer, scanning electron microscope (SEM),thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and electric nose (E-nose). The particle size analysis results said that the mean particle size of micro-encapsulation was 2?m and the shape of particle size distribution curve liked normal distribution. The SEM picture reflected that the micro-encapsulation stuck on the tissue of wallpaper. The TGA and electrical nose analysis results observed that the micro-encapsulation had good stability and sustained releasing ability and it's successful for the preparation of aromatic wallpaper.The sustained releasing ability of aromatic wallpaper was detected in detain by E-nose and gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer (GC-MS). The E-nose results indicated that the micro-encapsulated aromatic wallpaper had nice controlled releasing ability while the fragrance strength of general aromatic wallpaper nearly equaled with the blank wallpaper's when the former placed for 60 days. The results of fragrance concentration curves of general aromatic wallpaper and micro-encapsulated aromatic wallpaper, being recorded by GC-MS,said that the micro-encapsulated aromatic wallpaper could keep fragrant more than 3 months.
