Chrysoberyl ore is an important beryllium mineral resource in our country.At present,the beryl ore with high grade of beryllium becomes exhausted,and the processing and utilization of chrysoberyl ore are getting more and more important to ensure the sustainable development of beryllium metallurgy industry and ensure the safety of beryllium resource.Study on the extraction of beryllium from chrysoberyl ore is a precondition to realize industrial application of this mineral resource.The chrysoberyl ore sample tested was obtained from Xianghualing mines in Chenzhou city,Hunan.The beryllium was extracted by roasting-acid leaching-extraction technique.The main conclusions are summarized as fllows:The beryllium was enriched from chrysoberyl ore sample by reverse flotation.BeO grade increased from 0.261% to 0.400%,and the recovery of beryllium is about 75.0%.Because of calcium-containing minerals are separated,the beryllium leaching efficiency of the sample was enhanced and and less sulfuric acid dosage was needed.Through the positive flotation test of beryllium rough concentrate which obtained by reverse flotation,BeO grade increased from 0.400% to 0.889%,but the total recovery of beryllium is as low as only about 50.0%.In order to ensure the beryllium ore resources recycling,the leaching experiment was carried out with the beryllium rough concentrate produced by reverse flotation as sample.The beryllium leaching efficiency of the chrysoberyl ore sample was low when the sample was leached directly by acid nomatter it was roasted or not,and more sulfuric acid dosage was needed.However,the beryllium leaching efficiency of the beryllium rough concentrate,which was produced by reverse flotation,is much higher.Under the condition of roasting temperature 950 oC,roasting time 2h,sulfuric acid dosage 30%,liquid-solid ratio 2:1(ml/g),leaching temperature 95 oC,leaching time 4h,the beryllium leaching efficiency was up to 82.0% and the total leaching efficiency for the chrysoberyl ore sample could reach to more than 60%.Leaching liquid extraction and reverse extraction experiment was carried out.The effects of pH of extract,extraction phase ratio,extraction time on the extraction efficiency of beryllium were investigated,the optimum condition is as follows: pH 2,extraction phase ratio O/A 1:3,extraction time 10 min,reverse extraction phase ratio O/A 2:1,reverse extraction time 12 min.The extraction effect is satisfactory,with the beryllium extraction efficiency up to 80.0%,and the reverse extraction efficiency more than 95.0%.
