Nowadays,it’s a great significance for dilute magnetic semiconductors to move forward for the development of information technology.Comparing to the ordinary semiconductor,magnetic elements which are extremely rare,but local paramagnetic ions generated due to the migration of carriers to exchange special effects,it has many special magnetic properties.Finding,researching and using these special rules,the full development of diluted magnetic semiconductor,which is now researchers are pursuing.The rare earth compounds studied in this paper includes three elements,namely Co(3d transition metal),Pr(rare earth elements)and In elements.In this paper,these three elements are designed to 18 samples with nominal composition of PrCoxIn3-x.We hope that their phase structures are determined using X-ray difraction measurement.The normal compositions of PrCoxIn3-x are weighed,and follow by preparing alloy ingots using a non-consumable vacuum arc furnace under argon atmosphere melting.XRD of the samples are carried out after quenched and grinded,the phase identifications in PrCoxIn3-x are checked with PDF4-2009 and PCPpdf 2.The crystal planner indice with lattice parameters and unit cell volumes are determined using TEROR software.The lattice distortion is studied for the main phase in PrIn3-xCox with increasing Co contents.The phase evolution in PrIn3-xCox alloys are systemically studied,three single phases are observed,which are cubic phase of PrIn3 with a group space of Pm-3m,orthorhombic phase of PrCo2 In with a group space of Pmma,and rhbohedral phase of PrCo3 with a group space of R-3m.In the regime of x = 0 1.8,the cubic and orthorhombic phases coexist and the content of cubic phase is decreasing with increasing Co content.In the regime of x = 2.2 3.0,the orthorhombic and rhbohedal phases coexist and the content of orthorhombic phase is decreasing with increasing Co content.Finally,points out the problems and challenges that exist in this study.
