Cyclone is widely used in industry because of its small size, high separation efficiency and convenient operation and maintenance. However, the serious wear of the wall has restricted its application and development. In order to improve the service life of cyclone, through the method of combining numerical simulation with experiment, to study the wear behavior, morphology and wear rate distribution of each part of the cyclone. Pertinence's carry out erosion wear test of wear resistant materials, to find the best wear resistant material combination and improve the service life of the whole machine. The research results have some practical significance for reducing the running cost, saving the material consumption and improving the operation reliability.In this paper, the DPM Erosion model is used to analyze the trajectories of the particles and the wall wear in the 050mm cyclone, it was found that the spiral motion solid particles were deposited on the surface of the cone. The underflow is the most serious parts of wear, the cone's wear rate were less than the underflow. the wear rate increases rapidly from the middle to the bottom of cone, and the wear rate is 4.5 times higher than upper cone; The wear rate of the inlet annular space is 4 times than column, and the wear rate of the column and roof was the smallest. This paper discusses the influence of different caliber underflow mouth wear, with the underflow increased the hole machine's wear were reduced in a certain extent,underflow diameter has little effect for cyclone wear regular.According to the wear rate of the wall, determine the principle of subsection processing, and wear simulation test was carried out in the laboratory, according to the measured results to calculate the average wear rate of different parts, and the experimental results are in agreement with the numerical simulation results.According to the wear morphology of the wall and the trajectory of particles, we can know that the different impact angles of the particles on the wall lead to different forms of wear. Based on the force analysis and particle velocity vector, the wear behavior of the cyclone is divided into two zones: impact wear zone and erosion wear zone.At last, according to the wear failure mode, 7 kinds of commercial wear resistant materials were tested under different impact angles, determining the principle of optimum design of lining material: in the roof and entrance annular region lined high polymer material with 72A; in the roof, column section, cone section and bottom outlet area lined ceramic materials, it also provides guidance for prolonging the service life of the machine.
