There is complete band gap in woodpile structure,which could control photon transmit in three dimensional space.Using finite difference time domain(FDTD)method,the influence of spatial parameters on waveguide in woodpile structure is studied;planar and off-planar channel drop filters are investigated in detail;spatial wavelength division multiplexing has also been realized.The main works are as follows:Firstly,x-type and y-type waveguides are introduced in woodpile structure.Using space characteristics of woodpile structure,the optimization for x-type and y-type waveguides are studied.Our results suggest that there are differences between single-layer optimization and double-layer optimization for x-type waveguide.For the single layer adjustment,the low band edge and high band edge moves along the opposite direction and the width of ban gap is narrower.For double-layer optimization,the low band edge moves to high frequency,and the shifting for the high band edge is very tiny.In the off-planar optimization of the Y-type waveguides,the guide mode is adjusted by the width of dielectric rods When the rods are shifted along the different directions,the change of guide mode shifting is different.When the rods are shifted along the different directions,the change of guide mode shifting is different.Secondly,a planar and off-planar channel drop filters included of three-dimensional cavity are studied.The characteristics of the frequency selection is investigated in detail when the cavity is rotated in the xoy plane.It is found that when angle rotated is different,the output frequency is also different.The frequency selection characteristic is realized.Finally,due to the periodic change of dielectric constant along the stacking direction,a space wavelength division multiplexer with twelve channels is designed,studied and analyzed.In order to enhance the output efficiency,for each ports,a plane waveguide is introduced between input and output waveguide.By controlling the size of cavities located at the different output waveguides,a three dimensional wavelength division multiplexer included of the twelve channels is realized.
