Metallic sodium as a basic raw material,has been used in many industrial fields.The sodium metal is mainly composed of salt melt electrolysis device,caustic soda melt electrolysis device,electrolysis of sodium amalgam device such as preparation,preparation of the sodium metal but impurity is more,the need for a second purified.Na-β-Al2O3 as a new solid electrolyte material,whose characteristic is that sodium ions can migrate in freely and other ions are unable or difficult to pass under the effect of electric field.Using the Na-β-Al2O3 characteristics,design a set of preparation and purification of preparation of sodium metal device,simple structure,current efficiency,the metal sodium can be up to 99.99%purity.The main content are as follows:Na-β-Al2O3 tube as the core parts of the electrolytic device for the diaphragm structure of semi-closed,cathode chamber adopts sealing structure,the anode chamber adopts open structure.According to the existing diaphragm tube size and current density on calculation,design,determine the electrolytic device of the system,including the reaction device,heating system,control system,sodium storage device,gas protection system and test platform,this paper has studied the 3 sets of equipment.1.Unit 1Na-β-Al2O3 ceramic membrane tube internal to the cathode chamber,at the top of the ceramic tube and aluminum ring welding technology,to replace the body and the aluminum ring thread sealing to seal structure,replace the body ACTS as a cathode,anode chamber for u-shaped structure,U tube at the other end as the loading port;Produce sodium metal flow from replacing the upper body,sodium through the tube into the store,the entire reaction device and store sodium device into nitrogen protection.2.Unit 2Solve unit 1 ceramic tube and aluminum ring welding technical requirement is high,it is difficult to achieve the sealing requirements.Na-β-Al2O3 ceramic membrane tube as the cathode chamber,between external and stainless steel tank type O sealing ring seals at the top,through pressure ring and fastening ring extrusion type O ring to make it to meet the sealing requirements;Na-β-Al2O3 ceramic membrane tube inside as the anode chamber,anode using nickel plated brass;Output arrive sodium metal working fluid level from stainless steel after electrolytic cell side out of the pipe flow of sodium,sodium into the store,the entire reaction device and store sodium device into nitrogen protection.3.Unit 3Sodium metal cannot solve unit 2 meet continuous discharge problem.On the basis of unit 2 add a PTFE head,head through the cooperate with pressure ring threaded pressure Na-β-Al2O3 ceramic tube,pressure sealing ring structure,into a screw down the screws of compacting pressure ring,in turn,extrusion of sealing ring structure,the pipe diameter increases into the vertical structure of sodium,sodium to clamp seal structure.Sodium storing device structure has become a big hole’s clip sealing structure.Through the test of unit 3,smooth output metal sodium,sodium metal purity of 99.99%.
