The syntheses of 2-vinylquinoline and multiarylmethane were investigated in this dissertation.It consists of two sections:(1)Synthesis of various 2-vinylquinoline in high yield on water under catalyst-free condition with 2-methylquinoline and miscellaneous aldehydes as substrates,(2)Synthesis of various multi-arylmethane under catalyst-free condition or using phosphoric acid as catalyst.In chapter 1:2-vinylquinoline was synthesized in good yield,with 2-methyl quinoline and benzaldehyde as substrates under catalyst-free conditions.Based on this,Substituent effect was investigated using electronically and sterically diverse aromatic substrates,furnishing various 2-vinylquinoline in moderate to good yields.The aliphatic aldehydes were also examined,giving rise to the desired products.In chapter 2:The synthesis of multi-arylmethanes compounds was achieved using N-methylindole and triphenylchloromethane as substrate.Phosphoric acid was found to be the optimal catalyst via screening of different kinds of acids.Under the optimal condition,the desired products were obtained in good yields using electronically and sterically diverse indoles,affording the desired products in good yields.Besides,other nucleophiles were also attempted,furnishing the corresponding products in good to excellent yield.Based on this,catalyst-free condition were also examined to synthesis multi-arylmethanes,and trifluoroethanol was shown to be the optimal catalyst,yielding the desired products successfully.
