Tailings is the key of the mine enterprise production safety,the stability of the tailing dam is not just about that the mining enterprises can continuous production,is also related to the surrounding ecological environment、downstream people’s life and property safety.However,with the rapid development of economy in our country,mining quantity is more and more,the development of mining industry also got bigger,and tailings of capacity usage is also more and more.Based on the large tower at high concentration tailings as the research object,the paper analyzes the sedimentation law of stacked tailings,analyzes the tailings stability in the process of raising and expanding with the finite element method(fem).The different finite element soft wares are used to calculate the tailings 2 d and 3 d stability under different working conditions,and draw the following conclusion:(1)Through the comparative analysis of the three experimental data,we get that the degree of consolidation and shear strength index of the tailings increase with time,using the method of high concentration ore discharging.(2)According to the particle analysis of experimental data,particle size of the big tower tailings is fine,tailings is mainly tail silt,distribution of particle size is better and the ability of liquefaction resistance is strong.(3)According to experimental data of the big tower high concentration tailings the paper analyzes deposition law.In a horizontal direction,deposition law is similar to tailings with the way of low concentration ore discharge.However in the vertical direction,the deposition regularity is not obvious by way of high concentrations ore discharge.(4)Two-dimensional finite element model is established using MIDAS-GTS.the paper analyzes the seepage line and stability of the dam under different working conditions.Through the results of analysis,we can get that with the heightening of dam,tailings dam saturation line is up,the dam safety coefficient is fall.When the special period,the dam is destroyed at heightening 10.5 m.(5)Three-dimensional finite element model is established with MIDAS GTS,and the saturation line is almost the same with two-dimensional.By the results of stability analysis,after the dam heightening 7 m,10.5 m in the normal period of the dam body can meet the using requirements;However,the calculation results show that dam body do not meet the requirements of using after the dam heightening 7 m,10.5 m.Therefore,we must pay attention to the dam seepage measures in the use of tailings dam.
