Objective:Based on a large number of scientific evidences to preliminary explore the optimum content value of main mineral components for the standard of infant formula,follow-on formula and young children formula. In order to provide references for the revision of the national standards and better meet the requirement of Chinese infant and young children in nutrition and safety.Methods:1.In this paper, the comparative study on the content value of mineral components in infant and young children formula among each international organizations and countries was carried out,and the scientific basis for its determination was preliminarily explored;2.The literature data on China breast milk component, the intake of infant and young children, the deficiency and excess rate of main mineral of infant and young children which had published publicly were retrieved and analyzed.3.The value of main mineral components was evaluated by the AI/RNI and UL of nutrients from the newest Chinese dietary reference intakes, the content value of China current standard, the nutrients distribution among products of infant and young children formula in China, the content values of the standard of infant and young children formula of each international organizations and countries and evidence based on nutrition research at each international organizations and countries. Finally, put forward the preliminary recommendations for revision of national standards.Results:1.The retrieved result of standard of infant and young children formula of international organizations and countries included infant formula and follow-on(young children)formula from Codex,United States, the European Union,Australia,New Zealand,Japan and China. The content value of mineral components in infant and young children formula among each international organizations and countries was compared in detail.2.The overall average content of calcium, iron, zinc and copper in breast milk was 271.06±50.28mg/L±0.64±0.4mg/L,2.08±0.82mg/L and 0.36±0.15mg/L respectively;the ratio ranges of the 95%confidence intervals for the overall average intake of calcium, iron and zinc for AI/RNI of 6?12 months infant were 1.94?2.25,0.87?0.99 andl.37?1.51 respectively;the ratio range of the 95%confidence interval for the overall average of calcium for UL of 6?12 months infant was 0.32?0.38;the ratio ranges of the 95%confidence interval for the overall average intake of calcium, iron and zinc for RNI of 12?36 months young children were 0.95?1.05,1.4?1.53 and 1.69?1.82 respectively;the ratio ranges of the 95%confidence interval for the overall average intake of calcium, iron and zinc for UL of 12?36 months young children were 0.38?0.42,0.5?0.55 and 0.85?0.91 respectively;the average deficiency rates of serum detection of calcium, iron, zinc and copper of 0?12 months infant were 8.7%,41.13%,43.8%and 1.93%;the average deficiency rates of hair detection of calcium, iron and zinc and copper of Chinese 0?12 months infant were 63.1%,25.7%,9.73%and 0.83%;the average excess rates of serum detection of calcium, iron and zinc and copper of Chinese 0?12 months infant were 2.77%,1.58%,0.6%and 3.88%;the average deficiency rates of serum detection of calcium iron and zinc and copper of Chinese 12?36 months young children were 13.46%,27.08%,28.61%and 0.96%;the average deficiency rates of hair detection of calcium, iron and zinc and copper of Chinese 12?36 months young children were 47.98%,1.48%,33.53%and 1.5%;the average excess rates of serum detection of calcium iron and zinc and copper of Chinese 12?36 months young children were 0.84%,0.02%,1.3%,0.09%.3.0n the basis of the above study results, the suggestions on revision of content value of main mineral components in infant formula,follow-on formula and young children formula were put forward.Conclusion:1.The preliminary recommended content values of main mineral components of the China national food safety standard of infant formula are as follows:the minimum value of iron and zinc should be improved, and the maximum value of zinc should be reduced, the suggestions on specific value need further study;the minimum value of copper should raise to 59?g/100kcal.2.The preliminary recommended content values of main mineral components of the China national food safety standard of follow-on formula are as follows:further study is needed to add an maximum value to calcium;the minimum value of iron and zinc should be improved, and suggestions on specific value need further study;the maximum value of copper should be reduced to121.3?g/100kcal.3.The preliminary recommended content values of main mineral components of the China national food safety standard of young children formula are as follows:further study is needed to add a maximum value to calcium;recommendations of iron and zinc cannot be made on current available data and needed further investigations and studies.
