As a kind of widely used clean energy,natural gas plays a more and more important role in our production and daily life.With the rising demand of natural gas,we are facing the increasing pressure on gas drilling operation: We had to increase our gas exploration in recent years to meet the demand of natural gas.At the same time,problem such as backward management,equipment aging,bad maintenance which led to gas leakage were exposed.There is hydrogen sulfide,a toxic gas which can be life-threatening at a concentration of 1mg/L,in the natural gas besides methane.A large portion of the gas fields in service are high sulfur fields,it would be disastrous in case of a massive gas leakage,so people should attach great importance to the work of real-time monitoring of hydrogen sulfide in gas well site.Most of the early hydrogen sulfide monitoring system used in gas well site implement signal transmission with cables,and this kind of monitoring system are still in service in many gas well sites.These monitoring systems are usually bulky and hard to install or move.With the rapid development of wireless sensor network during these years,we got a new solution to improve traditional gas monitoring system.This thesis describes the background and significance of hydrogen sulfide monitoring in gas well site,analyses the latest development of gas monitoring system,then put forward a design scheme of gas monitoring system based on wireless sensor network,and finish system hardware and software design.In the design of hardware,MSP430F149 manufactured by Texas Instrument is used as the microprocessor,and CC2530 the main chip of wireless communication module to make the monitoring system a low power consumption system with other parts of hardware.In the design of software,the objective of network and communication accomplished by using ZigBee with the Z-Stack which developed by Texas Instrument,that ensured the system's low power consumption,stability and flexibility.After finishing the design of this system,this thesis introduces the calibrating test and application of this monitoring system in the real gas well site environment and related data has been acquired.The data shows that this gas monitoring system can meet the requirement of accuracy and stability,ensure the staff's life safety in gas well site,and this gas monitoring system will be an important reference for the development of similar system in the future.
