Inner Mongolia is the largest base of high quality milk origin of China, but there were few reports on the study of minerals of Inner Mongolian milk and lack of systematical and comprehensive detection and evaluation.A total of 79 raw milk samples(77 cow,79 Mongolian horse,19 bactrian camel,13 goat)from 9 banners east to west of Inner Mongolia were collected and 23 macro and trace elements were determined.Minerals profile of species and regions were studied by descriptive statistics and chemometrics, and further, feasibility of minerals profiling model to discriminate the authenticity of species and origin of milk were explored. There were differences of minerals among the four livestock milk, goat milk were generally higher, and mare milk were lower, but ratio of Ca and P were nearest to human milk. There were differences of minerals among milk from different regions.Compared to macro elements, trace elements had major differences.Selenium showed obvious regional abundance effect, east regions were entirely lower than west regions. All Samples among different species and regions were separated well by PCA analysis based on the index set of 23 macro and trace elements. The score plot showed that mare milk samples were far from three ruminant(cow, goat and camel)milk and west regions were far from east regions.Cow milk samples of Hohhot(west)were far from Arhorchin Banner of Chifeng and Ewenki Banner of Hulunbuir(east),mare milk samples of Damao Banner of Baotou(west)were far from Zhenglan&Xiwu Banner of Xilin Gol League as well as Ewenki Banner of Hulunbuir(east).Authentication model of SIMCA and PLS were established to discriminate the authenticity of mare and cow milk qualitatively and quantitatively. The accuracy of internal validation of SIMCA model were 100%.Estimated maximum error range was 10%,and standard deviation of discrimination error was 2.29%.The results indicated that minerals profile can applied to authentication of species and geographical origin of different milk.
