Thin rectangular plates are widely used in engineering field for their intrinsic specialties.While within practical application of them,vibration,especially on two-dimension level,frequently happens.Thus,the control over plate vibration can effectively improve the overall stability of structures in engineering application.Controlling methods among thin rectangular plates can be classified into passive vibration control,active vibration control,and semi-active vibration control.Compared with the later two kinds of methods,active vibration control strategy based on PZT patches is more practicable.Here the feasibility analysis is drawn from the comparison of the open loop and close loop of the rectangular plate.Based on Kirchhoffs plate theory,the governing differential equation of motion is deduced through a four-edge simply supported plate in this paper.When the motion differential equation is added the item of inertia forces,and the function of time is kept as the only dependent variable,the model function can be estabilished through D’Alambert’s principle.The total internal energy quotation and kinetic energy quotation are deduced from the comprehensive model of piezoelectric-based systems(actuators and sensors).With the model the vibration control of the piezoelectric-based system can be analysed.Two kinds of vibration controller are designed according to the model analysis of the thin rectangular plates.The numerical imitation analysis of the first three orders vibrating model as well as the displacement variation and total energy transformation of the thin rectangular plate are presented in COMSOL.According to those analysis,the controllers function best under the first-order perturbation,where controlling rates are 45.08%and 45.385%respectively.Finally,a four-edge free experimental platform is estabilished,and two kinds of experimental vibration,free vibration and forced vibration,are designed.According to the experimental statistics,two kinds of vibration controller function on both free vibration and forced vibration.Under the condition of free vibration,the restable periods curtail by 30.34%and 28.60%respectively;under forced vibration,the controlling rates raise up to 56%and 65%.This project provides a solution to the vibration of thin rectangular.
