Reactive oxygen species?ROS?are a series of very active substance in nature.Ozone?O3?is a typical reactive oxygen species,people often regard ROS just as ozone,for the reason of its three oxygen atoms.For humans,ozone is beneficial and harmful like a double-edged sword.In this paper,the design,synthesis and application of a novel fluorescent probe are reported for the first time.This small molecule fluorescent probe has the advantages of cheap raw materials,high yield,easy purification and stable chemical property of product in the synthesis process.Based on the construction changed,the small organic molecule fluorescent probe can select ozone in the environment and organisms.so as to realize the detection of ozone successfully,semiquantitative detection in the environment and visualized fluorescence imaging in living cells were also carried out.This paper mainly studies the following aspects.First of all,as to the specific recognition of ozone react with but-3-enyl groups,we synthesized a fluorescent probe?Cou-Bu?as a ozone detector.Various spectral properties of Cou-Bu were investigated at room temperature.The fluorescence enhanced significantly after reacting with ozone,but did not with other reactive oxygen species,which showed high sensitivity,fast response and selective specificity.Secondly,To explore its biological value,we used fluorescence confocal microscopy imaging technology to carry out the detection of ozone in living cells with Cou-Bu.Other reactive oxygen species,antioxidant substances and metal ions in living cells also do not interfere with the detection of ozone.At the same time,it is found that the probe has the advantages of good biocompatibility and little damage to cells.It is turned out that the probe is of good biocompatibility and low damage to cells.Finaly,we also carry out to detect the ambient ozone.The results showed that the semi-quantitative determination of ozone in the environment could realize with a CouBu disk test.Therefore,Cou–Bu can be an effective tool to detect ozone through imaging in cells and semi-quantitative test disk in ambient air.
