| With the progress of science and technology and the improvement of productive forces, while the relationship with the natural ecosystem is also deteriorating. In order to measure the impact of human activities on natural ecosystems and the sustainability of resource use,Rees first proposed the concept of ecological footprint, followed by Wackernagel and so on to improve its concept and the establishment of the ecological footprint model.Since the concept of ecological footprint was put forward, quickly at home and abroad have been widely recognized and has become an important tool to measure the utilization of regional resources and sustainable development. In general, the higher the ecological footprint of a region, the worse the sustainability of the region.Based on the framework of Beijing,Shanghai,Tianjin and Chongqing, this paper analyzes the natural environment and social economic environment of the Chinese metropolis, and respectively calculates the total footprint, the per capita ecological footprint and footprint composition of the Chinese metropolis from 1997 to 2014 through the ecological footprint model.on the basis of this, this paper makes a comparative analysis of the longitudinal changes of the per capita ecological footprint of Chinese metropolis and its horizontal comparison, and analyzes the main reasons for the change of ecological footprint in Chinese metropolis.According to the comparative analysis, this paper draws three conclusions:(1)The per capita ecological footprint of the Chinese metropolis showed three trends. On the whole, the per capita ecological footprint of Beijing showed a decreasing trend, which was 25.8% lower than that in 1997.The per capita ecological footprint of Shanghai showed a steady fluctuation trend,Which was only 7.6% higher than that in 1997.The per capita ecological footprint of Tianjin and Chongqing shows an upward trend, which increased by 49.5% and 71.8% respectively compared with that in 1997.(2)In the composition of the footprint, the proportion of fossil fuels in China’s metropolitan area was increasing, which was the decisive influencing factor of per capita ecological footprint,The proportion of other parts of the footprint was declining.(3)Population has become an important factor affecting the ecological footprint of Chinese metropolis. In terms of the total ecological footprint, the population of Shanghai and Chongqing was higher compared with the other two cities, resulting in the total ecological footprint was higher, while the population of Beijing and Tianjin was lower, resulting in the total ecological footprint was lower. In order to control the growth of ecological footprint, reduce the destruction of natural ecosystem and realize the sustainable development of the city, this paper puts forward relevant ecological policy suggestions on the basis of comparative analysis of population, energy, industry and environmental policy in Chinese metropolis. |
