Fengnan District is a district of TangShan,which is located in the eastern coastal areas of Heibei province,China.As the fast development of the China's economy,it has become the “cradle of the modern industry”.And it is quite famous for its heavy industry,such as steel industry.As a result of the fast-pace development,environmental pollution has become a significant issue for Fengnan District,especially the heavy metal pollution which has the potential to cause devastating damage to the local environment.Therefore,there is a research gap to investigate the current situation of the heavy metal pollution of Fengnan District as well as its main characteristics.This paper adopted single factor index method and the Nemerow index method to investigate the soil physical and chemical properties,the heavy meatal content as well as the spatial variation rule of the topsoil of Fengnan District.Eight types of heavy metals(Cu,Zn,Pb,Cd,Cr,Ni,As and Hg)were selected as the main focus of this study.In addition,the research studied the source identification of the heavy metal pollution and proposed antipollution measures.The summary of the findings of this research is as following:1)By statistical analyzing the eight types of heavy metal content,it showed that: Soil heavy metal content of Tangshan city As9.638 mg/kg,Cd0.062 mg/kg,Cr84.421 mg/kg,Cu23.959 mg/kg,Hg0.027 mg/kg,Ni23.344 mg/kg,Pb21.426 mg/kg,Zn68.497 mg/kg.The coefficient of variation and the degree of variation indicates that the space distribution of these heavy metal pollutants is relatively uniform,which indicates a weak influence from human factor.The degree of variation of Cr,Cr,Pb,Zn and Cu is medium,and the degree of variation of Hg and Ni is strong,which indicates that the space distribution of them is large.2)From the single evaluation of heavy metal pollution,Cd,Cu and Hg showed a very minor level of pollution.And Ni,Pb and Zn showed a mild level of pollution in some specific areas of Fengnan.Cr showed mild level of pollution in 35.7% areas of Fennan and showed moderate pollution in some specific area.3)The results of the comprehensive pollution evaluation showed that,the light pollution was the highest degree of soil heavy metal of Fengnan,which accounted for 30.95% of the total area and the potential pollution accounted for 42.86%% of the total area.4)The research concluded that,from the industrial distribution point of view,heavy industry concentrated areas of soil heavy metal pollution situation is a significant issue in traditional farming and animal husbandry and aquaculture area.
