Based on the empirical electron theory of solids and molecule experiences(EET),the average atoms model has been adopted to calculate the W-Nb solid solution of thestatistical values of valence electron structure parameters with different amount of Nb content,the statistical value SnA of the covalent electron number on the strongest bond and the statistical value SEA of the bond energy of the alloy has been calculated,thus obtaining the solid solution strengthening coefficient S,the solid solution alloy strength(?)and hardness(SnA),and analyzed the relationship between the feature of the W-Nb alloy element and the statistical values of valence electron structure parameters.Based on the valence electron structure,the experiments for W-Nb solid solution alloy having different elements had been designed,and X ray diffractometer(XRD),scanning electron microscope(SEM),optical microstructure,and EDS(Energy Dispersive Spectrometer)had been taken to manifest and mark the tissue and features of the sintering alloy samples to study the effect of those having different additional amount of Nb elements on the tissue and features of W-Nb solid solution alloy.The average atom model and Bond Length Difference(BLD)method had been taken and statistical values of valence electron structure parameters combined with computer programming had been adopted to calculate the W-Nb solid solution valence electron structure,and it is appropriate to take the statistical values of valence electron structure parameters to discuss the macro physical amount.The alloy strength factor ?,the number of covalent electron on the strongest bond SnA had been calculated,and the results had shown that with the increasing of the content of Nb,SnA???the hardness?strengthen and solid solution strengthening coefficient S have been increased,in the meanwhile,the bond energy of W-Nb solid solution had been continuously increased,but the increased magnitude is not obvious.W-Nb alloy powder had been made in the method of mechanized alloy and the sample was sintering through spark plasma sintering.the result showed that Nb had been completely solved into W,and with the increasing of the content of Nb,the diffraction peak had moved to low angle.Analysis conducted on the tissue of the total metallographic phase and the shape and appearance of the broken opening had shown that with the increasing of the Nb content,the total crystal particle size had been gradually reduced to be about 3um and the density had also been gradually increased,so had the hardness been,indicating that the adding of Nb could refine the crystal particle and improve the hardness of the alloy,which are almost identical to the results calculated for valence electrons.It could be seen through analysis on the shape and appearance of the W-Nb alloy that W and Nb had been distributed in an even way,and no local segregation had appeared.In addition,with the increasing of the content of Nb,heliciform steps had appeared in the broken edge of the alloy so as to improve the plasticity of the alloy.
