The study of remaining oil distribution is a technical problem. It is also a continuous research topic in different fields such as geology, geophysics and reservoir engineering. There are many research methods of remaining oil distribution. The categories can be divided into macroscopic and microscopic residual oil distribution and the remaining oil saturation study. The geo-logging is the most widely used in the study of the residual oil distribution. The logging data are very comprehensive for the single well information collection, but due to the influence of the instrument detection range, the logging data are limited in the small area around the well.A serious shortage of information between wells makes big trouble for the residual oil research of reservoir.Borehole-to-surface potential imaging technique is more and more favored by the major oil companies.Compared with other logging methods,it has the advantages of wide horizontal detection range, high detection depth and high resolution, and solves the problem of lack of interwell stratigraphic data.Borehole-to-surface potential imaging technique is a kind of electromagnetic exploration, which covers the advantages of excitation and surface receiving in wells, and establishes the relationship between wellbore high-resolution logging and surface geophysical methods. It is both a powerful tool for wellbore reservoir and fluid distribution research and an integral part of reservoir integrated geophysical technology. In this paper, the measurement principle of Borehole-to-surface potential imaging technique and the method of determining residual oil saturation using Borehole-to-surface potential data are introduced in detail.Aiming at the problem that the reservoirs are poor in physical properties, the heterogeneity is serious and the degree of water injection is difficult and the waterflood control is low and the residual geological reserves are high. The residual oil distribution in K area is carried out by using the Borehole-to-surface potential imaging technique the study.By measuring the potential data of wells in zone K and the single well qualitative analysis, the resistivity distribution along the stratigraphic direction and the distribution of residual oil saturation in the study area are given.Analysis to determine the direction of water injection, propulsion direction and spread, and put forward the corresponding development and adjustment recommendations.Through this study, the applicability of wellbore potential imaging technology in Konys oilfield in Area K is verified, and the construction technology and data interpretation method of the technology are improved.Get the advanced nature and limitation of this technology, and have a new understanding on Prospects.Borehole-to-surface potential imaging has a very good effect for the evaluation of the remaining oil distribution and the determination of water injection development program adjust.
