Thermal conductive materials have a wide range of applications in industrial production and social life.The heat transfer efficiency of polymer resins is very low,it usually needs to be modified or synthesized to meet the application requirements in related fields.Filling inorganic heat conductive materials into the polymer matrix is one of the main methods on preparation of thermal conductive composite materials.Creating new additives and developing the preparation technology of the composites is extremely significant for application and research on thermal conductive materials.In this paper,the polystyrene(PS)and ethylene propylene diene monomer(EPDM)were used as matrix.And as inorganic thermal conductive,hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN)was used to prepare a new type of thermal conductive materials.Rodlike boron nitride nanomaterials were prepared by spray drying and solid phase calcination,the thermal conductivity and mechanical properties of BN/PS/EPDM composites made of the as-obtained boron nitride and commercial boron nitride were compared.Meanwhile the effect of silane coupling agent on the modification of boron nitride was also investigated.Three different kinds of silane coupling agent were used for modification of the boron nitride,and BNKH550,BNKH560 and BNKH570 as productions respectively.BN@PS,BNKH550@PS,BNKH560@PS,BNKH570@PS as four novel core-shell structured fillers were prepared by suspension polymerization method,the influence from the percentage of different initiator,dispersing agent and filler content were also discussed.The as-obtained products were analysis by IR,XRD,TG-DTA TEM and SEM.The preparation conditions of novel core-shell structured BN@PS was singled out.In this paper,with BN,BNKH550,BN@PS,BNKH550@PS as conductive fillers,and PS and EPDM as matrix,BN/PS/EPDM composite materials were prepared by melt blending method.Thermal conductivity,tensile strength and scanning electron microscopy of the as-prepared four kinds of composite materials were characterized the analyzed.The optimum composition condition of composites was discussed.It’s been found that the thermal conductivity of the composites enhanced with the increase of the BN doping percentage,while its tensile property was decreased.The influence of core-shell structured BN@PS filler on mechanical properties of composite PS/EPDM is better than that of boron nitride modified by coupling agent under the same amount of boron nitride addition.The mechanical properties of BNKH550@PS composites are better than those of BN@PS.
