The existing results have shown that the adhesion of marine organism on concrete is beneficial to the substrates. But there are many doubts about adhesion characteristics of marine organisms and how to promote the marine organism to adhere to the cement-based materials. This topic has been studied the microorganism species of the area covered by marine organism of cement-based materials. The effect of bacteria on the adhesion of marine organism larva on cement-based materials was also studied in this article. In this article the barnacles were used as demonstration to show the difference of cement, interface and bath plate when the barnacles adhered on different base materials. Then simulation experiments were carried out to explore the relevance between the distribution of marine organism on cement-based materials and the protective results of them. The results showed that.(1)The holes of the base plates of barnacles on polystyrene were bigger and regular, the thickness of base plate was approximately 50μm.The holes of the base plates of barnacles on stone were smaller and irregular, the thickness of base plates was approximately 30μm.The attachment of barnacles on clay brick was loose and the space between substrate and the base plate was large. The holes of the base plates of barnacles on clay brick were big and irregular and the thickness of base plates was approximately 80μm.The holes sides of the cement secreted on concrete were little while the holes sides of the cement secreted on polystrene were large. The cement secreted on concrete and secreted on polystyrene were measured by infrared spectrometer, the results showed that the chemical groups in the cement were similar.(2)The high throughput sequencing results showed that the biodiversity of the surface covered by marine organism was greater than the biodiversity of the surface uncovered. The main bacterial species in the microflora of the surface covered by marine organism were bacillus and pseudomonas while the main bacterial species in the microflora of the surface uncovered was paenibacillus. In the experiments about the adhesion of marine organism, the cement-based materials would be covered by bacterial film when they were soaked by bacterial culture suspension for one week. The experiment result showed that the pseudomonas could promote the adhesion of marine organism cypris larva on cement-based materials. In the experiment the main marine organism adhered on the surface of cement-based materials and the surface of stone around the samples were oysters, while the substrates far away from the samples were covered by little barnacles. The results showed that the density of base plates of oysters is higher than the density of base plates of barnacles. The adhesion strength of marine organism and chemical group of cement secreted by marine organism were almost not be affected by bacterial film. The adhesion strength of oysters was higher than the adhesion of barnacles.(3)The carbonation resistance and chloride penetration resistance of cement-based materials were enhanced by the adhesion of marine organism on the surface of cement-based materials. The simulation experiment showed that the larger area covered by oysters the cement-based materials better protected. When the marine organism adhered evenly on the surface of cement-based materials the preventive effect of the organism was greater.
