Fly ash/coal gangue fiber?FCF?is one type of inorganic fiber made by fly ash and coal gangue through melting,jetting and cooling.Fly ash is the combustion waste of coal and coal gangue is a solid waste generated during coal extraction.Due to the excellent characteristics of inorganic fibers,the fiber has been widely applied in the fabrication of fireproof and heat insulating materials.In addition,since FCF is similar to plant fiber,it has been used in the paper making industry.However,the inorganic fiber properties of FCF weakened the performance of paper.Therefore,in order to solve this problem,the investigation of strength agent is necessary.Herein,a strength agent is developed and coated on the surface of FCF to investigate the enhancement of tenacity and elasticity of FCF as well as the improvement in the performance of paper produced by blending FCF and plant fiber.The main research work of this paper is as follows:?1?Study on the synthesis of FCF reinforced agent by single factor variable methodThe strength agent is synthesized with starch as starting material,hydrogen peroxide?H2O2?and sodium hydrogen sulfite?Na HSO3?as initiator to initialize polymerization followed by graft copolymerization with phenylethylene and butyl acrylate.The strength agent was employed in the surface modification of FCF,which compensates for the drawbacks of FCF such as high stiffness,fragility and ease to break.To increase grinding FCF after sieving rate as examining index,using the single factor variable method,to study the starch,FeSO4,dosage of H2O2,the ratio of initiator,monomer ratio on the properties of strengthening agent.It is concluded that the optimum process for the synthesis of FCF reinforcement is as follows: the starch is 10.0 g,FeSO4 is 0.02 g,the oxidation degradation of H2O2 is about 2.5 g,the mass ratio of initiator H2O2/Na HSO3 is 5.0,and the mass ratio of monomer St/BA is 13:7;Through the analysis of emulsion particle size,FT-IR and other analytical methods,the synthesis of the better conditions were characterized.The results show that the emulsion enhanced dispersion index?PDI?was 0.163,the Z-Average was 70.30 r.nm;the reinforcing agent was used in the process of FCF reinforcement,and the fibers were evaluated by scanning electron microscopy,fiber sieving and paper physical properties.The results show that the fiber surface coated with a layer of reinforcing agent;enhanced FCF sieving rate lower than the unreinforced FCF;enhanced FCF content of 30% under the premise of papermaking paper,compared with the pure physical plant fiber made of paper can the performance of paper increased.?2?Optimization of preparation technology of FCF reinforcement by Response Surface MethodologyIn the early stage of exploration based on single factor,we found that the initiator H2O2,St,FeSO4 contents have a great effect on enhancing agent performance,so using the response surface method of FCF reinforced synthetic technology for further optimization.The effect of the amount of initiator H2O2,St and FeSO4 on the properties of the reinforcing agent was analyzed by the screening rate of the enhanced fiber.The results showed that the optimum dosage was:the FeSO4 was about 0.016 g,initiator H2O2 was 2.5 g,St was 15.09 g,and the predicted value of the screening rate of the FCF was: 25.22%.The reinforcing agent of FCF reinforced modified synthetic optimum process conditions,the enhanced FCF sieving rate is 25.57% and the error is small,consistent with the expected value of 25.22%.Therefore,the response surface method is feasible,and the optimal process is reliable.Through the analysis of emulsion particle size,FT-IR and other analytical methods,the synthesis of the better conditions were characterized.The results show that the PDI was 0.037,Z-Average was 68.89 r.nm,The reinforcing agent was used in the process of FCF reinforcement,and thefibers were evaluated by ESEM,fiber sieving and paper physical properties.The research results show that by using the response surface optimization technology,FCF was increased,and the screening rate was less than that of single factor method;in the enhancement of FCF content is 30% under the premise of papermaking experiment,the physical properties of paper is not only superior to pure plant fiber paper and papermaking performance,compared with the single factor method of the paper,the related physical properties is more improved,further illustrate the response surface optimization process the more successful.?3?Study on the technology of FCF reinforcement and the effect of reinforcing fiber on paper propertiesThe reinforcing agent for reinforcing technology of FCF synthesized under the optimum conditions,the sieving rate and paper physical performance index enhanced fiber,explore the reinforcing agent dosage,temperature and time on the effect of enhancement enhancement enhancement effect.The results showed that the optimum conditions were as follows: the concentration of the reinforcing agent was 2%,the enhancement temperature was 65 o C,and the enhancement time was 1.5 h;the experiment of the modified fiber and plant fiber was carried out,and the maximum content of fiber was also discussed.The results show that the enhanced FCF adding amount was 30%,the largest in the paper with copy paper performance and copied in the pure plant fiber paper close to even better performance.
