As one of the most advanced machining technology of gear in the 21 st Century,gear slicing is widely concerned by the industry,and it has broad market prospects.But with in-depth study,due to the lack of cutting mechanism,especially the cutting force research,popularization and application of gear slicing technology can not be achieved.With the continuous development of the finite element theory and computer technology,the establishment of the cutting process simulation model with the use of finite element analysis has gradually become one of the most effective ways to research the cutting mechanism.Therefore,gear slicing process simulation model and its application in calculation of cutting force were researched in this paper.First,in this paper,the basic theory of cutting process simulation was described.With the knowledge of cutting mechanics and mechanics of material,the basic theories of constitutive model,fracture model and the friction model were studied,which laid the foundation for the gear slicing cutting process modeling.Secondly,considering the highly nonlinear cutting process of gear slicing,Abaqus software was used to establish the simulation model,and realize the geometric model establishment,unit selection and meshing,material model selection and determining of motion model and contact way.Again,with the application of simulation model,result of the cutting force and chip formation and broken process were obtained.The influence of cutting parameters on cutting force was analysed respectively by single factor and multi factor experiments,and the reasonable parameters matching was put forward.Finally,the test system of cutting force measurement was researched.The force measuring system based on the rotating dynamometer was built.For the connection problem of dynamometer,the redesign,manufacturing and precision testing of the connecting piece were completed.Through the gear slicing cutting test cutting force measurement was finished,and by comparing simulation results and the test results,the rationality of gear slicing cutting process simulation model was verified,which provides guidance for further theoretical research.
