Four-track tensioner is the key equipment in the installation system of deep-water umbilicals.The foreign R&D institutions have developed a very mature product in this field while the four-track tensioner is still a blank stage in China.In order to develop the four-track tensioner for the laying of deep-water umbilical with the intellectual property right,the electronic control system of tensioner is studied combined with the task: “Key Components'(tensioner)Development for Umbilical Installation System”.In this paper,the main research part is the electrical control system of 85 tons four-track tensioner which includes the control scheme,the hardware and software design,and the simulation analysis of constant tension control system.Firstly,the related work on international tensioner is presented,then the development target of 85 tons four-track tensioner is determined based on development trend of the deep-water tensioner.Secondly,the working principle and the overall development requirements of 85 tons four-track tensioner are introduced.The overall design scheme of the electrical control system is presented.Through the combination of mechanical design and hydraulic design scheme,the main hardware selection of each module control system are analyzed,meanwhile,the communication scheme,electrical schematic diagram and electrical cabinet are also designed in detail.The main functions of 85 tons four-track tensioner are evaluated,and the flow processing of all the functions are designed,then the PLC software program,the control parameters of inverter and the HMI software are setup.After that,the constant tension control strategy of 85 tons four-track tensioner is focused on.The model of the tension control system is established by employing the AMESim simulation system.The relationship between the actual tension trend and the parameter setting of the tensioner control system in different water depths are obtained.Finally,excessive experiments are carried out including the tensioner land function test,the run-in test,the static tensile test,the dynamic load control test and laying on the sea test.Based on the results,our design of technical indexes reach the expected goal and the 85 tons four-track tensioner works well.
