Thirty eight corn varieties were used in three season’s field cultivations and indoor analysis to investigate agronomic characters and yield traits, as well as accumulation and translocation of cadmium from soil to different parts of corn and filter out varieties with low cadmium accumulation in Liling of Hunan. Results showed that there were significant differences both agronomic traits and yield characters, cadmium accumulation and transfer of grain, stems, roots, leaves and other organ sites in different varieties.(1) In the spring trial, yields ranged 322.2 from 481.4 kg, and Ⅰ-5 was the highest one. Cadmium accumulation in the grain ranged from 0.10 to 0.28 mg/kg, and Ⅰ-15 was the biggest. The enrichment factor of the grain ranged from 0.04 to 0.17, well Ⅰ-15 was still a maximum. Cadmium accumulation in the stem ranged from 0.84 to 3.21 mg/kg, and Ⅰ-13 was at the first place. Transfer coefficient of cadmium transported from stem to grain ranged from 0.05 to 0.22, Ⅰ-9 was the tiptop.(2) In the summer trial, yields ranged from 251.8 to 521.2 kg, and Ⅱ-5 was the biggest. Cadmium accumulation in the grain ranged from 0.09 to 0.51 mg/kg, Ⅱ-4 was the higgest one. The enrichment factor of the grain ranged from 0.09 to 0.52, well Ⅱ-4 also was at the first place. Cadmium accumulation in the stem ranged from 1.24 to 4.40 mg/kg, and Ⅱ-7 was the maximum. Transfer coefficient of cadmium transported from stem to grain ranged from 0.03 to 0.22, Ⅱ-2 was the tiptop.(3) In the autumn trial, yields ranged from 260.4 to 449.4 kg, Ⅰ-4 was the highest one. Cadmium accumulation in the grain ranged from 0.11 to 0.34 mg/kg, and Ⅰ-15 was the biggest. The enrichment factor of the grain ranged from 0.07 to 0.25, well Ⅰ-15 was the tiptop. Cadmium accumulation in the stem ranged from 1.31 to 2.47 mg/kg, Ⅰ-2 was at the first place. Transfer coefficient of cadmium transported from stem to grain ranged from 0.06 to 0.15,Ⅰ-15 was the maximum.(4) The cadmium content difference of the same parts between different corn varieties were significant, but the cadmium distribution content of different parts was analogical. The law of cadmium content in different parts of plant was leaf> tassel> root> stem> bract.According to the above data indicators for screening,Ⅰ-12,Ⅰ-19,Ⅰ-2,Ⅰ-4 and Ⅰ-6 were suitable for spring and autumn planting in the paddy fields contaminated by cadmium. Ⅱ-5 and Ⅱ-6 were qualified to the summer planting. Ⅰ-5 and Ⅰ-1 were suitable for single spring planting as well as Ⅰ-18,Ⅰ-10 and Ⅰ-14 were optimum for single autumn planting. |
