| Polysulfone(PSF)membranes have been widely used as ultrafiltration membrane in water treatment for its best properties,such as mechanical strength,oxidation resistance,thermal stability,resistance to corrosion and so on.But Polysulfone material has hydrophobic nature characteristic and is prone to fouling,resulting in higher energy consumption.And sometime ultrafiltration membrane couldn’t remove metal ions or other small molecule.So researchers are trying to modify them to improve its antifouling and filtration properties.To obtain ultrafiltration membrane with better properties,this experiment adopted solution polymerization initiated by 2,2’-azobisisobutyronitrile to synthesize copolymer P(MD),using Methyl methacrylate(MMA)with hydrophilic carboxyl and Dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate(DMAEMA)with amino group as monomers and achole/water as solution.And ultrafiltration membrane blending with copolymer P(MD)were prepared via immersion precipitation phase inversion method.FTIR analysis was used to further confirm the success synthesis of copolymer P(MD).And TG analysis indicated the DMAEMA was succeed introduced in copolymer P(MD)with lower thermal degradation temperature at 240 ℃ than 310 ℃ of methacrylate ester bond.Even though the copolymer showed better thermal stability.The performance of membrane in resisting fouling and removing heavy metal ions were explored.SEM photographs show that the finger structure was prolonged and spherical macrovoids in surface was reduced.The contact angle was reduced from 89.2°of pure membrane to 63.3° and 64.3° of membrane modified with P(MD12)and P(MD12).As for the static adsorption of BSA,PSF/2%MD12 had lowest adsorption ratio and better resistance to HA whose flux recovery and irreversible fouling were 100%and 0 respectively.Blended with P(MD)can enhance water flux from 53 L/m2 of pure membrane to 93.43 L/m2 h of PSF/2%MD12.As for the static adsorption of Cr3+/Cu2+,the adsorption capacity of UF membranes was 5 mg/g and 0.2 mg/g and removal efficiency was about 70%and 10%respectively.The removal efficiency of Cr3+ was almost 88%when the copolymer concentration was 1%and the removal efficiency of Cu2+ could be 100%owing to the competitive adsorption when several metal ions existed in solution.When the concentration was 2%,all modified membrane had good removal efficiency. |
