The process design and development of dry acetylene generator(referred to as dry acetylene)has become hotspot in acetylene industry research.This paper combine with the application of various characteristics of dry acetylene generator in current industry and investigate about the control problems such as running water content,temperature,moisture content of carbide which may effect the security and stability of existing installations.We have developed a new dry process acetylene generator on the basis of exploration of the regular pattern and characteristics of calcium carbide reaction with spray water.According to the experimental data of reaction of calcium carbide particles and spray water,we can get a better operating condition:temperature at 110?;the total spray of water as the theoretical amount of around 250%;sectional spray,single spray quantity requires less than 60%of the total water;use measures to update the calcium carbide particle surface with the agitation;calcium carbide particle size 0?2mm.On the base of experiment data,taking an annual output of 50000 tons of PVC chemical plant as an example,we design specification parameter of the dry acetylene generator process which can replace the present wet acetylene generator.In the design,we use measures of carbide particle size control,water quantity subset,automatically interlocked the temperature adjustment,stirring renovation,and develop new dry process acetylene generator equipment and systems,establish corresponding operating rules,resolve a series of problems encountered when equipment production is running.Through practice of industrial pre-production,the equipments achieve safe and stable operation;all indicators meet the design requirements,and achieve good economic and social benefits.
