The traditional base plates are mostly made of carbon steel. This kind of material has high weight, large vibration and make big noise, which have greatly limited the use of vibration isolation system. With the development of our country, the society's requirements on vibration isolation platform performance are becoming more and more highly, especially military isolation system, its working environment is more complex and requires high stealth performance. Because of its excellent static and dynamic characteristics such as high specific strength and stiffness, high natural frequency and damping, carbon fiber reinforced plastic(CFRP) have widely used in the manufacture of various types of structures. Thanks for its excellent performance, the base plates made of CFRP not only can considerably reduce weight, but also have many advantages such as high strength, corrosion-resistant, shock resistance, easy maintenance, good sound damping performance and low vibration. This paper focuses on the application of CFRP base plates, and discuss how the CFRP affect the vibration isolation performance of the base plates.In this paper, using the admittance to present the power flow of the base plates' vibration transmission, investigate how the material properties affect the vibration isolation performance of the base plates. Then combined with the finite element analysis method, use the power flow of vibration isolation as the evaluating indicator, the paper discusses the effect of layers on the vibration isolation performance of the CFRP base plates. Taking the laminate design standards and manufacturing cost into consideration, choosing symmetrical layout CFRP base plates with the laying angle of 0 ?and 9 0 ?, This article built two kinds of vibration isolation platform based on different base plates material( carbon fiber composite material, carbon steel material), using 3D modeling software to model the vibration isolation platform, combining finite element analysis method with the relevant test to research how the different base plates materials affect the natural vibration characteristics of the vibration isolation platform.At the end of the paper,using vibration motor and vibration exciter as vibration source to test the transmission characteristic of two kinds of base plates based on different material(carbon fiber composite material, carbon steel material),researching how the base plates material affect the vibration isolation performance of the base plates.The analysis shows that in the study frequency range, The CFRP base plates' vibration isolation performance is better than the steel base plates in most frequency range, while vibration transmission performance is better than the steel base plates in the natural frequency. Applying the carbon fiber composite material to the vibration isolation base plates can significantly improve the vibration isolation performance.
