Research On The Application Of Handmade Drape Embroidery On Fabric Design

Handmade Drape Embroidery has been existed for a long time and today it is still applied to garment and household products design. When handmade drape embroidery first appeared, it attended to model garment exaggeratively and decorate clothes lavishly. During this period, the handmade drape embroidery was mainly applied to court dress. After that, the type of handicraft art became various. Also, the application of materials became extensive, which was not limited to use gold and silver threads again. The origin, fabric, handicraft, pattern, colour and style of hand drape embroidery would be researched and discussed in this thesis. At last, this handicraft would be applied to products design through a set of bolster design.The origin and development of hand drape embroidery was researched through referring to a large number of documents and books. Besides, the development of hand drape embroidery at different times was discussed and analyzed. This contributed the subsequent design from the respect of theory.Through analyzing design elements and style of handmade drape embroidery, it was found that handmade drape embroidery could change some characters of fabric and realize the art that drape is difficult to do. For the fabric which is difficult to fix the shape, handmade drape embroidery could do it. For the thin fabric, handmade drape embroidery could make it thicker. When different stitches and embroidery yarn were used, the thin fabric that is difficult to fix attended to show different texture.It is an effective way to inherit and develop the traditional handicraft that the characters of handmade drape embroidery deeply were deeply understood and then it was combined with other crafts design perfectly. In this thesis, the beauty of handmade drape embroidery products was demonstrated more effectively through the combination of handmade drape embroidery, pearl embroidery, freehand, patchwork and distressing process. This is rather significant to the heritage and development of handmade drape embroidery.Through the analysis of the products application of handmade drape embroidery, it was found that this handicraft was mainly applied to fashion design, indoor soft adornment design and textile art packaging design. This showed the beauty of this handicraft when it was applied to various products.Through a series of research, the handicraft skills were further classified and organized. The related practical achievement and research theory were concluded, promoting the better application of the decorative craft. There are great theory significance and practice significance in this research.
