Recently,the leakage of crude oil and the emissions of living oil damages ecology seriously.As we all know,there are some differences between water and oil about the surface tension,so we can choose the surface which has different affinity for oil and water to separate the mixture.Otherwise,the oil-water separation efficiency can be enhanced by endowing the surfaces with special wettability.Surface wettability is an important property of solid surface.Recently,studies over infiltration surface such as super-hydrophobic,super-hydrophilic and Janus surface,gradually attracted everyone's attention.In this paper,three different material(hydrophilic,super-hydrophobic and Janus fabric)were prepared and applied in the oil-water separation.The main research contents and conclusions are as follows:Treated cotton woven fabric,because of its own characteristics of hydrophilic and oleophobic underwater wettability,so it can be used to separate the mixture of water and light oil,and after 50 cycle separation,the efficiency still is greater than 98%.However,the mixture of heavy oil and water can not be separated using the untreated cotton fabric,because it's character of hydrophilic and oleophobic underwater wettability.In order to compensate the deficiencies of cotton woven fabric about oil-water separation application.The superhydrophobic fabric was prepared by a simple method.Firstly,use ?-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane as precursor to prepare Si O2 sol,then translate the Si O2 sol to cotton surface by dipping,subsequently,place the sample in an ammonia atmosphere for 24 h to construction of rough surface on fabric.Finally,perfluorooctyl methacrylate was used to decorate the fabric by click chemistry method to reduce its surface energy.The study found that putting the sample into ammonia atmosphere for 24 h can significantly improve the roughness of the fabric.The contact angle and roll angles of the prepared superhydrophobic fabric are: 155 °,and 5 °.It has a good rubbing fastness,because after 800 friction it can also maintain super-hydrophobic properties.Otherwise it have excellent acid resistance and UV irradiation characteristics.It can be applied into the separation of heavy oil and water,and after 50 cycles using its separation efficiency is still 98%.But it is not capable of the separation of light oil and water.In order to further improve the oil-water separation section,a simple method of preparing the Janus fabric which has a superhydrophobic surface and a hydrophilic surface was reported.The prepared super-hydrophobic cotton fabric was put into the Na OH solution and heated for 30 min to prepare Janus fabric.Study found that Janus fabrics can applied in oil-water separation.Using Janus fabric as oil-water separator material for oil-water separation,when the heavy oil / water mixture first contact with the Janus fabric hydrophilic surface,Janus fabric can be efficiently separated from the heavy oil / water mixture.We make the Janus fabric hydrophilic surface wetted.When light oil / water mixture first contact with Janus fabric with hydrophobic surface,Janus fabric can be efficiently separated from the light oil / water mixture.In addition Janus fabric has the characteristics of high efficiency and high cycle times in the oil water separation experiment after the 10 cycle is still able to achieve the separation efficiency of 98%.
