Research On Form Perceptual Image And Development Of Design Support System Of Modern Wood Dinning Table

Furniture products play an important role as the necessities in people's life. With the improvement of material conditions, people do not only focus on the material needs but also on the spiritual needs, which requires the design of furniture products can pay attention to the emotional needs.This paper studies the relationship between form elements of modern wood dinning table and consumer perceptual image by Kansei engineering, BP neural network and multiple regression analysis. First, analyze the form of modern wood dinning table and get the form elements which influence the perceptual image. Then, use semantic differential scale to quantify the perceptual image of representative samples. And establish the BP neural network of form elements and perceptual image by Matlab, Next, use multiple regression analysis to make the regression models between form elements and perceptual image. Last, develop a design support system of modern wood dinning table form for both customer and designers. There are several results.(1) tabletop, legs and transverse column below the table determine the visual experience of overall shape of dinning table. And line of the edge of tables, connection form of tabletop and table legs, angle of tabletop and table legs and storage form inflect the perceptual image of dinning tables.(2) tabletop forms have rectangular, circular, square and irregular rectangular; table leg forms have square spindly legs, square thick legs, round spindly legs, curved legs, wood turning legs, elongated sheet legs, central support legs and frame-shaped support of both sides; transverse column forms below the table have no transverse column, straight transverse column and curved transverse column; line forms of the edge of tables have flat one, convex one and concave one;connection forms of tabletop and table legs have flushed one and covered one; angles of tabletop and table legs have right angle, extended angle and adduction angle; storage forms have no storage, shelves and drawers.(3) created a form elements table of modern wood dinning table and coding table of form elements.(4) got 14 representative perceptual image semantic vocabulary to describe modern wood dinning table, which are upright, concise, geometry, slender, stable, durable, rules, symmetric,public, elegant, classic, practical, simple, and straight.(5) established the BP neural network of form elements and perceptual image and got the perceptual evaluation output of predicted samples as the basic data for perceptual image repository in the development of design support system of modern wood dinning table form.(6) made the regression models between form elements and perceptual image to provide thereasoning mechanism of design support system of modern wood dinning table form.(7) developed a design support system of modern wood dinning table form for both customer and designers...
