This paper takes the old waste alkaline zinc manganese battery as raw material.By controlling the dosage of Zn to synthesize ZnxMn1-xO nanoparticles.The photocatalytic degradation of bisphenol A and photocatalytic degradation of hydroquinone and resorcinol in water by ZnxMn1-xO nanoparticles were investigated.The experimental results are as follows:1.The battery was split into plastic,copper,zinc,and powder etc.The mashed zinc and the pretreated powder were dissolved in H2SO4 solution.Then NH3H2 O was added to make ZnxMn1-xO nanoparticles by coprecipitation.The synthesized ZnxMn1-xO nanoparticles were analyzed by means of X-ray powder diffraction?XRD?,energy dispersive spectroscopy?EDS?and scanning electron microscopy?SEM?.The results showed that the synthesized Zn0.5Mn0.5O nanoparticles were cylindrical with a diameter of60 nm,and the yield was 57.1%.2.The adsorption capacity of ZnxMn1-x O nanoparticles with different proportions of Zn and Mn on bisphenol A and the photocatalytic degradation efficiency under simulated solar light source were analyzed.The time of equilibrium adsorption of bisphenol A on ZnxMn1-xO nanoparticles was 40 min;the simulated solar light irradiation 180 min,bisphenol A photolysis 21.7 ± 1.6%,and the photocatalytic degradation efficiency of Zn0.1Mn0.9O,Zn0.3Mn0.7O,Zn0.5Mn0.5O nanoparticles of bisphenol A were 59.41 ± 4.32%,83.43 ± 2.73% and 71.22 ± 4.79%.The results showed that the photocatalytic degradation performance of Zn0.3Mn0.7O nanoparticles was better than that of Zn0.1Mn0.9O and Zn0.5Mn0.5O nanoparticles.3.The optimum conditions for photocatalytic degradation of hydroquinone by ZnxMn1-xO nanoparticles were investigated: the initial concentration was 20 mg/L,the dosage of ZnxMn1-xO was 0.16 g/L,the initial pH was 7,the dosage of H2O2 was 0.2%,the irradiation was 180 min.The degradation rate can reach 98%.4.The optimum conditions for photocatalytic degradation of resorcinol by ZnxMn1-xO nanoparticles were investigated: the initial concentration was 10 mg/L,the dosage of ZnxMn1-xO was 0.12 g/L,the initial pH was 6.5,the dosage of H2O2 was 0.2%,theirradiation was 180 min.The degradation rate can reach 80%.The experiment results showed that ZnxMn1-xO nanoparticles can be prepared by waste zinc manganese batteries.On the one hand,it can solve the recycling problem of waste batteries and reduce the cost of catalyzer;On the other hand,it can solve the problem of water pollution and achieve the goal of using waste to control pollutants.
