Electromagnetic forming technology is a method of forming a metal workpiece by using a coil to generate pulse electromagnetic force at the delicate level of time.Electromagnetic pulse welding is to extend the application of electromagnetic forming technology,its principle is suitable to weld pressing speed,welding angle of pressure to the welded parts,in order to welding and welding connection between atomic bond formation and Realization under normal temperature metal welding.This method is complex and requires higher technical parameters and discharge capability for electromagnetic forming machine.Electromagnetic pulse welding at normal temperature to achieve the same or dissimilar metal welding,metal does not melt,can effectively reduce or avoid intermetallic compound production.This paper analyzes the electromagnetic forming discharge circuit system,and study the welding mechanism and welding conditions of jet forming about dissimilar metal electromagnetic pulse,we use Maxwell software to simulate the different discharge voltage current waveform and the electromagnetic force,we use the method of TC4 titanium alloy and 3A21 aluminum alloy plate welding experiments,and the welding section metallographic analysis and hardness testing,last we research the mechanism of electromagnetic pulse welding.The results show that the welding joint is irregular wave form,it is proved that the bonding between atoms and realized welding,welding lap welding has been achieved;electromagnetic pulse welding method can realize the dissimilar metal,suitable pressing speed,welding angle can be formed the jet in the welding area,the jet formation is a necessary condition to achieve the lap welding;the yield strength of TC4 affects the wave amplitude of joint surface and the influence of TC4 surface roughness on wave shape;the welding area exist grain refinement and dislocation slip phenomenon,the hardness of welding area is higher than substrate.According to the results of welding test and detection result we determined that the welding interface wave form is caused by the formation of the air jet at the welding zone.There is a large velocity gradient between the jet center and the workpiece surface,Kelvin spin forming due to airflow disorder.The fluid has not yet entered turbulent form,workpiece welding has been completed,the welding area form a smaller amplitude of the Kelvin waveform.
