Tobacco manufacturing enterprises are using high-speed automated packaging equipment,but the product quality testing is still confined in a single production process by the traditional sensors are generally.It's lack of comprehensive testing device to detect the appearance of the finished cigarette products.With the continuous improvement of the market consumption demand and the enterprise's own quality requirements,if the cigarette packets with defective appearance getting into the market will cause a great negative impact on corporate image and product reputation.In this paper,the production process of the cigarette packaging machine is introduced firstly,and the defect types of the package appearance are analyzed.Then,based on the characteristics of high precision and wide detection range of machine vision technology,in this paper a set of inspection system of the appearance defect of the package will be designed,and on the basis,it analyzes the whole process of machine vision and image processing.The detection system is analyzed and designed,including the detection system and the rejection mechanism.Then,the algorithm of image processing and image feature extraction for smoke image is studied.Finally,the software system is designed,and the software programming is finished.The system installation,commissioning and experiments.Based on the machine vision technology,the appearance defect detection system of this package uses the intelligent camera to get the smoke image on the production line,and uses the image processing technology to process it.Then the control parameters are compared with the set standard parameters,The appearance of the defective package is defective;for the defective cigarette rod,the system issues a rejection order to the corresponding rejection mechanism to remove the defective product,and the non-defective product goes into the next production process for packaging.Through a series of on-site experiments and tests show that the system can accurately detect the defects of the appearance of the package and remove them simultaneously,and fully meet the needs of product quality control.
