Cassava industry is a regional traditional industry in Nanning, and the cassava starch enterprises are facing currently pressure in industrial integration upgrade and standardized emission. The implementation of cleaner producti on in the whole industry is an important means.Paper analyzes level of pollution emission and cleaner production of cassava starch enterprises in Nanning, and obtains the result that the compliance situation of pollutant emissions is not optimistic, especially for total nitrogen, total phosphorus, benchmark displacement per unit product, the current situation of cleaner production level is generally low.Paper built a cleaner production potential assessment index system for starch industry which contains three levels six categories thirty five indicators combined with the actual situation of cassava starch enterprises, ascertained the standards corresponds to the three grades of cleaner production, and ascertained the index weight of cleaner production potential assessment by using the analytic hierarchy process(AHP)method combined with expert consultation method.Paper takes a cassava starch enterprise in Nanning as an example, carrying out cleaner production potential assessment which based on the built assessment index system of cleaner production potential and fuzzy mathematics comprehensive evaluation method. We verified the result with the one of Cleaner Production Audit, and obtained the result that the two conclusions was highly consistent, the index system was relatively completed, the fuzzy mathematics comprehensive evaluation method was accurate operable and practical, which can as an assessment of cleaner production level.
