With the development of chemical industry, the emission of hazardous waste solvent in production process is increasing, which hazards the environment and human health. As the environmental protection and production safety get more attention, the government has enacted a series of strict laws and regulations for supervising and disposing hazardous chemical waste.This paper compared the current disposal methods for hazardous chemicals such us burning, landfill and physico-chemical treatment, and proposed a recycling utilization route combining separation and purification techniques. Take acetonitrile, methanol and isopropyl alcohol for example, after preprocessed and purified, the waste chemicals are separated via membrane separation, distillation and extraction, then industrial-grade even chromatographic grade recovered solvents can be obtained. The combination technique of membrane separation and distillation in this paper saved two thirds of energy consumption compared to foreign recycling techniques based on distillation. Besides, advanced pinch technology (heat exchanger network optimization method) has been adopted to optimize cooling and heat exchange, which could save 20%-30% steam or cooling water.The disposal methods for waste organic solvent in this paper are widely applicable, economic, safe, energy-saving and environmental-friendly. The products have high quality and meet the requirements of reuse.
