Chinese herbal medicine has thousands of years of history and plays a crucial role in the battle against diseases. In addition, the development of Chinese herbal medicine has been an important part of traditional Chinese culture and is a summary of history, culture, natural resources.Chinese herbal medicine makes significant contributions for people's health. However, with the development of market, the abuse of illegal additives severely affects Chinese herbal medicine's medicinal value, especially sulfur fumigation which results in SO2 residue in herbs, and seriously infringes upon consumers' interests and rights. In this thesis, the investigation of SO2 in major types of Chinese herbal medicine from professional market in Bozhou Anhui province is used to analyze the SO2 residue situation. The effects of sulfur fumigation on SO2 residue in raw material of traditional Chinese herbal medicine such as peony, angelica, pueraria and bellflower were analyzed. The main results are as follows:1.In this study,30 types of herbs from various producing areas were selected in Bozhou market to analyze the SO2 residue. The result shows that the SO2 residue in 55.22%herbs exceeded the standard and 44.78%herbs are qualified. In the analysis of herbs from different areas,31.03%is qualified and more than 41.38%is over standard limitation. The results indicate that SO2 residue in the selected herbs is generally over the standard limitation.2.In this study, the effect of sulfur quantity and fumigation time on SO2 residue in Peony,Angelica,Pueraria and bellflower from Bozhou is analyzed during the sulfur fumigation process. The result shows that sulfur dosage and fumigation time affect SO2 residue in herbs significantly?P<0.05?.With the increase of sulfur and fumigation time,SO2 residue in herbs is higher than national standard and sulfur dioxide residue stopped accumulating when the sulfur is 500g and fumigation time is 20h.In addition, when sulfur is 100g and fumigation time is 20h,Peony,Angelica,Pueraria and bellflower is in high quality and SO2 residue in the herbs is lower than national standard3.In this study, ultrasonic wave is applied to remove SO2 of pueraria. In order to evaluate the influence of temperature, time and power on the sulfur dioxide residues, predictive modeling is used to detect sulfur dioxide removal efficiency. The analysis of temperature, time and power is conducted by using Box-Behnken.Based on the models, temperature and power significantly affect the SO2 residues pueraria?P<0.05?,and with the increase of temperature and power,SO2 removal efficiency increases first and then ascends. In addition, with the increase of time,SO2 removal efficiency increases and stabilizes at 3h.Among temperature, time and power,a significant interaction influence SO2 removal efficiency?p<0.05?.The optimal levels of the three factors are determined to be:48?,2.9h,ultrasonic power 260W.Under this condition,SO2 removal rate is 70%under the national standard requirements.
