In recent years,the human living environment has been seriously affected by the haze,so people pay increasing attention to a safe,healthy and comfortable indoor environments that its quality can directly affect the health of people.Since existing equipments for monitoring indoor air quality are expensive,simple parameter of environmental measurement and poor human-computer interaction,It is very essential to research a set of economic,efficient and intelligent monitoring system of indoor environment for improving the indoor air quality and securing the health of people.The paper presents a monitoring system of indoor air quality based on embedded Linux which can monitor both harmful gases and dust.Firstly,the hardware design of the monitoring system are described in detail that include the development of core circuit board,the electrical characteristics of the sensor,communication protocols and GSM module circuit.Then,it describes the characteristics of embedded Linux system and the building of software development environment,and focuses on the design of Linux drivers and implementation process in the hardware modules such as GSM module,formaldehyde gas module,temperature and humidity module,and dust particles module.Finally,Linux applications are designed to test and validate the drivers.The monitoring system with more natural and intuitive user interface based on the technology of Qt is provided to customers.The monitoring system adopts the embedded Linux operating system with high stability and reliability that lets users to upgrade it more easily,tailor a specific project more freely and also has good performance of real time and transplantation.Monitoring system with touch-screen technology and a good human-computer interaction allow users to easily operate and carry,the beautiful and simple air quality display interface is designed.In addition to this,Monitoring system has the function of short message warning so that distant users are able to receive alarm information of the indoor air quality immediately.Testing results show the system with stable performance and stability,fully function and real-time detection of indoor air quality has broad prospect in application.
