As an important part of the water resources, groundwater have its own unique distribution, burial conditions, migration rule and chemical characteristics. Chongqing has rich groundwater resources,which is an important supplemental water source for urban residents living and production.But lack the understanding of the groundwater environment basic function.Therefore this research relying on the the project for national investigation and evaluation of the groundwater basic environmental status,which developing by the environmental protection part and the ministry of land and resources.Selecting a hazardous waste landfill in the independent hydrogeology unit as the study area.Then use 3D geological model and groundwater numerical simulation to botain the distribution of the groundwater filed.At last simulating the contaminant transport in the hazardous waste landfill.The main results are as follows:(1) Buliding a 3D geological model in the study area by means of software platform called Groundwater Modelling System(GMS) after comprehensive analyzing data on geological maps, geological cross-section maps and borehole data.Achieving the visualization of complex geological mountains and showing the spatial distribution of the aquifer, aquifuge in the study area.(2) Using the Hydrogeologic-Unit Flow package to simulate the groundwater in the aquifer based on the 3D geological model, after detailed analysis about hydrogeology condition.Then obtained the groundwater flow field distribution after recognizing and validating the model. The simulation results show that the groundwater mainly discharge to Shaxi River and Yangtze River which is the minimum reference erosion surface in the study area.(3) Using the MT3 D package applied to simulate the contaminant transport in the hazardous waste landfill based on the groundwater model after calibration.Then forecast the pollutant change in groundwater with time.The results showed that Pb pollutant which with 3.8m3/d leakage after 15 years continuous, the groundwater quality will over standard range of 22829m2,the maximum range is 288 m.(4) According to the prediction results, we put forward different groundwater pollution control measures and contrastive analysis the effect.The results show that seeting pumping well with 100m3/d and barrier with 100 m can control pollution field outstanding,the pollution will out of standard in 6423m2 and the maximum range is 73 m after 15 years,which were cut by 72% and 75% respectively.
