With the fierce competition of the steel market day by day, companies have to improving the casting speed premising of product quality, so more requirements are raised to the casting production. Mold is the key factor for the continuous casting which has great influence to the product quality.The research object is the continuous casting mold with the size of 850mm?200mm which is used by a Tangshan company. Because of the serious slag entrapment and a number of large inclusions in the narrow slab, three-dimensional model is established by ANAY FLUENT 15.0 which is a type of large-scale commercial software. The evaluation standard of the research is on the basis of flow field?steel-slag interfacial configuration and removal rate of inclusions. Comparing to the actual mold, The physical model is established with the ratio of 1:1. The changing rule of the flow field in the mold is obtained by doing research of the nozzle structure parameters and continuous casting parameters. Detailed comparison is made between traditional double outlets SEN and new SEN with three outlets.The result is as follows: On the basis of evaluation standard, the exit area ratio of the traditional double outlets SEN is relatively small and the inclination angle is appropriate. The exit ratio of the optimized SEN is 2.902(85mm×62mm) and the angle is still 15°. High exit area ratio can reduce the surface velocity and the wave height which can relieve slag entrapment and improve the removal rate of inclusions. When the inclination angle of SEN is 15°, the surface velocity is steady which is between 10° and 20°and the removal rate of inclusions is high. After the comparison of traditional double outlets SEN and new SEN with three outlets, the conclusions is that new SEN with three outlets has better effects than the traditional SEN under high pulling speed.
