Production of hydrogen chloride (HCl) is an important process in chlorine alkali industry. In this work, to solve some problems in production process of HCl of Xinjiang Huatai Corporation such as frequent damage of synthetic furnace burner, leaking of synthetic furnace blasting sheet and incomplete combustion of H2/Cl2,we performed technical modification of production process of HCl. Major results are as follows.(1) Technical modification of synthetic furnace burner process was performed. We tabulated the standards for lamp holder assembly and evaluation; developed new two-ring-fire lamp and nozzle jet chlorine tube; optimized the pipeline for transmitting H2/Cl2.After these modifications, the blocking of lamp was removed, the cleaning period of lamp was prolonged, the number of lamp damaged was reduced. In the end, the stability and security of this process were significantly improved.(2) Technology modification for explosion disc was performed. We tabulated the standard of installation of explosion disc; set up the protection cover; optimized the operation pressure; modulated the distance between disc and furnace; lowered the operation temperature; optimized the HCl pipeline and valve; removed the emission of HCl. After these modifications, the performance, stability and safety of explosive disc were improved significantly.(3) Technical modification of control of Cl content in HCl gas stream was performed. We re-organized DCS control chamber and heating pipeline in major control area; replaced the modest gas with hot wind; developed the shut-off valve in the pipeline to synthetic furnace; set up unit alarming facilities; removed the possibility of damage of control chamber from gas emission. In the end, The safety and disposal flexibility of this process were improved significantly.To sum up, through our study in this work, damage rate and number to be replaced of synthesis furnace lamp are reduced significantly; no explosion happens for explosion sheet after more than one year; the pipeline of HCl is operated safely and stably in a long time. The problems that are encountered before this research have been solved. The production of HCl is operated stably and safely in a pretty long time, with lower production cost and higher productivity.
