Aerogel is a new type of porous thermal insulation material. Because of its low density, high porosity and specific surface area, aerogel receives wide attention by the scientific community. Relying on single matrix to prepare aerogels is limited in performance. In order to meet the needs of the people, organic-inorganic hybrid aerogel has changed this situation. Polyhedral oligomeric silsesquionxanes (POSS) is a nano scale inorganic-organic hybrid material, and its multi-functionality provides a possibility to be a precursor of aerogels. The following contents are studied in this paper.1. Two silane coupling agents (OTES and OTSS) contained POSS were synthesized in this paper. OTES has a short chain, and OTSS has a long chain. Using OTES as the precursor, hybrid aerogels were prepared by ambient pressure drying method. The overall property of OTES aerogel can be controlled by the acid catalyst, aging time and precursor body concentration.2. OTSS/TEOS hybrid aerogels were prepared by supercritical drying, and then they were characterized by the TGA, TEM and BET analysis. The effect of OTSS on the thermal stability and the morphology of the aerogel was studied by changing the OTSS content in the aerogel. After the addition of OTSS, the specific surface area of the aerogel can be increased to 1282.54 m2/g.3. OTSS was grafted onto the surface of nano cellulose, and hybrid aerogels were prepared and characterized by the XRD, TGA, XPS and adsorption solvent test. The addition of OTSS can effectively improve the solvent adsorption capacity of nano cellulose hybrid aerogels.
