With the continuous progress of human civilization,people get used to social cooperation,and a modern industrial system is being built gradually.With the development of modern industry,a large amount of water is required to ensure the industrial production.The water resource is not enough in most area in China,because of the development of modern industry,water shortage problem is gradually emerged.At present in China,a large amount of industrial sewage water which does not meet the discharging standard is discharged directly.The sewage water which contains pesticides and chemical fertilizer pollutes rivers.With the expansion of cities,the increasing of city sewage water is also a kind of water pollution source.All these problems cause the pollution of water resource seriously.Because lots of fresh water is used in industrial production and agricultural production,the discharged water cause pollution.The contradiction between supply and demand of water resources has been increased.Among all kinds of problems,the industrial waste water is more serious.Citric acid production enterprises which are large water consumption units should take responsibilities to implement water saving programs.This program is in certain economic and technical conditions,by means of engineering and technology,to improve the current fermentation process by introducing high concentration glucose tolerance bacterial strain fermentation technique,to improve the current tricalcium citrate extraction method by introducing calcium hydrogen citrate extraction method,to add six columns of cation ion exchange resin for collecting the rinse water from anion exchange resin.With the above mentioned technique improvement,the water and material consumption will be greatly reduced,and this will be helpful to maximize the benefits of water resource and minimize the discharge of sewage water.After the technical reform,the water consumption quantity of this production line has dropped from 4,960,000 m 3 /a to3,320,000 m3/a,and the average water consumption of 1 ton of citric acid has dropped from 24.8m3/t to 16.6m3/t.We could strengthen the production control in each process,and reform the extensive management of water resource,and to achieve the comprehensive utilization of water resource and achieve sustainable development.This water saving technology program could reduce the water consumption,which could mitigate the shortage situation of production water,and is helpful to save the waterwhich could be recycled.This program could promote the comprehensive and rational utilization of water resource,reduce the water waste status,and optimize the allocation of water resource.
