Pharmaceutical waste water have a greater toxicity to microorganisms. It can be bio-accumulated and transferred to the human body through the food chain, and then endanger human. Therefore, it is very important to find an efficient technology for treating pharmaceutical waste water. In recent years, the degradation of Pharmaceutical waste water by photocatalysis oxidation has attracted a wide spread attention because of its non-poisonous and high activity, well stability, low energy consumption.BiOX(X=Cl, Br, I) was prepared with different facets, which has unique layered structure. there are no reports about the difference obout the photocatalytic activity of different BiOX facets. The photocatalytic activity of different facets has been compared by remove ciprofloxacin.Facets-dependent performance of BiOX(X=Cl, Br) for photocatalytic degradation of ciprofloxacin was studied. The main work of this study are as follows:(1) The different crystal facets of BiOCl(like {001}, {010} and{110}) were prepared through hydrothermal treatment. The different facets of BiOCl on its photocatalytic activity has been investigated bydegrading ciprofloxacin. The strength of the intrinsic internal electric field for BiOCl with different facets gives the reasonable explanation for their specific activity order: {110} > {001} > {010}.(2) The photocatalytic degradation activity of ciprofloxacin on different facets of BiOBr were studied in this paper. The results show that the more the {110} facets exposed, the higher the photocatalytic efficiency of BiOBr.(3) the photocatalytic degradation of ciprofloxacin by BiOX(X=Cl,Br) followed pseudo first-order kinetics. The research about the radical scavenger shows, h+ is the main active species of photocatalytic degrading ciprofloxacin.
